TCI Trainers Attend International Conference...

Three of Klingberg’s Therapeutic Crisis Intervention trainers recently had the opportunity to attend the 4th International Conference held by the Residential Child Care Project at Cornell University (RCCP). The conference was entitled “Building a Community of Practice,” and according to the RCCP/Cornell University website was designed to “highlight the importance of communities of practice in creating conditions for learning which lead to improving caregiver practice and outcomes for children and families.” Liz Boilard, Jaime Morales, and Barbara DiValentino enjoyed international speakers, research presentations, workshops, and a family and children’s panel, allowing them to immerse themselves in relevant information. They appreciated the opportunities to network and gain insight into the complex issues that challenge our work and our attempts to serve the best interests of children and families. Jimmy Greene Nominated for Grammy Awards...

We are delighted to announce that Jimmy Greene’s album Beautiful Life has been nominated for two Grammy Awards: one for Best Jazz Instrumental Album and one for Best Arrangement, Instruments and Vocals for the song “When I Come Home.” The album was inspired by Jimmy’s daughter, Ana Marquez-Greene, who was one of the children killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School in December 2012, and a recording of her voice is featured on the first track. Jimmy wrote in a Facebook post announcing the nominations, “Although I wish this album never had to be made, I am thankful that many more will hopefully hear her voice, a voice that our God would not allow to be silenced.” We wholeheartedly agree. Partial proceeds from the sale of Beautiful Life go to benefit The Ana Grace Project of Klingberg Family Centers, which strives to promote love, community, and connection to prevent violence and encourage healing. For more about the Marquez-Greene family and The Ana Grace Project, we invite you to visit www.anagraceproject.org. Beautiful Life can be purchased here:...

Agency Transitions Recordkeeping

Since 2008, Klingberg Family Centers has used the Harmony database system for client case management and tracking. Beginning November 2nd, a new system will be in place, called Credible. In addition, Credible has billing capabilities, so we will no longer need an additional database to handle the financials. Credible also provides the opportunity for a client portal if desired, something that may be useful for our Outpatient Clinic. Marci Marciniec, EHR Manager, and the rest of the committee formed to implement Credible have been working very hard on the transition for nearly nine months. The learning of a new system and developing the processes necessary for agency-wide implementation are an enormous undertaking. We are grateful for the dedication of our staff to making sure that important client information is tracked well, ensuring our effectiveness as...
